Hey folks... might want to alert any Louisiana pals you have to take a look and maybe write a letter or two. It's time that the south joined the 20th century, at the very least, and maybe even take a tour of the 21st to see what the world is really like.

Justice denies both ceremony and marriage license on the sole grounds that the couple was interracial.

Don't have plans for Friday night? Sick of the cold, wind and rain, but want to go do something out? Got a hankering for the music of your youth? Want to sit in a theater with free wifi and surf the net between sets of great, nostalgic music. Got a yen for some good pub grub (anything from hamburgers to veggie friendly fare) and a beer?

Then check out "Jeff Taylor and the Prairie Rust Band" (A Neil Young Tribute band) at the Strasberg Theater in Virginia (directions and other info on the site located at this link).

Selkie QUESTS

[info]selkiesyrin
Hey all.

You know the drill... someone needs some assistance, so I am posting here.

Does anyone know if there are any major (as in McD's. BK, Subway, Taco Bell or the like) fast food places in walking distance of the Loews Annapolis Hotel located at 126 West Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.

I am told it's near the Rams Head.

Anyone know of a place?

TIA!

Selkie QUESTS: Need assistance in finding a pattern for a cosplay friend.

Hey folks... you know the drill. I don't post here much, and rarely openly, unless it is to assist someone.

This time, someone is looking for a pattern, and coming up empty handed.

Do any of you know where one might look for the following?:

Stretch & Sew Ann Person Collectibles Pattern 311
Kwik-Sew Pattern 3773
Kwik-Sew Pattern 3052
Kwik-Sew Pattern 2722

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

A big ol' THANK YOU

Here's a huge shout out to [info]scaleslea for being such a mensch on Wednesday night...

I met him for some dinner in Rockville, and my car promptly died in the rain a block from the place. He was gentleman enough to stay with me until the mate showed up (insert long assed rambly story here about AAA account problems that necessitated the mates presence in order to get the car towed).

My "baby" turned 17 yesterday. Precisely 6 months off from my own yearly anniversary of birth, and born on Earth Day of 1992. And how appropriate a date, as she wants to go into "Wildlife Conservation" as her field of study in college.

Herself is one year off from being out and about as a legal adult.

Watch the hell out, world. She's a power to be reckoned with.

OK, folks... a rare open post, but for good reason.

A word of caution. Be *careful* when you dole out armchair diagnoses, folks. People who are already dealing with either a physical or mental health issue don't need your "assistance", unless A) you are a trained professional in the area in question and B) they sought you out for your advice/diagnosis themselves.

Offering up a lay persons opinion, unasked, and without benefit of said professional expertise and some serious time in for observation can cause more harm than good.

Selkie out...

A SHOUT OUT to [info]quislet WOOT!! TY!
Standard
[info]selkiesyrin
A big THANK YOU to [info]quislet for pointing a pair of his pals in my direction for the furret. Said couple was *awesome*, we feel very confident that himself, the king of all floors, will be very cared for and happy.

Not to mention... the people were awesomely cool. We were all wondering how it is we didn't already know them. Meet ups in future will likely be planned.

Weasel is happy and cared for... The Spawn (tm) has learned a valuable lesson, and handled the problem with maturity and contrition... and we met neat peeps.

I'd say it was worth the small hassle of having shucked out some cash needlessly, and the problems the kiddo suffered during the month she had him. Win/win/win!
